Bad news for San Diego Comic Con this year, 20th Century Fox has announced that they will not be attending the convention this year. After last years Suicide Squad leaks and the leaks of the original footage from Deadpool, it’s no shock that Fox has decided to forgo the trip. This risk comes from the advancement in technology and fans not following con rules, which state no video taping during panels. Sadly, this means that those who have already paid to go to con and were hoping to see exclusive footage for some of this years most anticipated films.
By deciding not to showcase any of its upcoming movie releases in Hall H at San Diego Comic Con this year, that means there will be no panels for Michael Fassbender’s Assassin’s Creed which hits theaters in December, no first look for Wolverine 3, no footage from Maze Runner: The Death Curse and sadly, nothing about any upcoming X-Men films like Deadpool 2 or Gambit.
No matter how sad we are about this new development, it’s completely understandable. No matter what people might say, footage leaks are not something studios want to happen and since they keep happening at Comic Con, it’s no wonder the studio is pulling out. Now the question is who else will pull away from Comic Con this summer. Which films will actually be featured in Hall H? Only time will tell what will happen this summer.
