If you’re a fan of Oceans Eleven then get ready for the all female version, Oceans Eight. The film, which is an all-female reboot of the widely popular heist film, is set to star Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter and Mindy Kaling. Now let’s just take a moment to appreciate the greatness in that line-up and the endless possibilities of comedy that could be had in this upcoming film. Gary Ross will be directing the film with Village Roadswho and Warner Bros co-producing.

But the biggest news is who is in negotiations to join the already all star cast of the film. Rihanna and Anne Hathaway are confirmed to be in talks to join the all-female film, which could be some awesome additions to what will be a motley crew of female con artists.

Following a similar path to Oceans Eleven, Oceans Eigth will star Bullock as the George Clooney character rounding up thieves and cons, whom together, attempt to pull off one big heist. The original films were riddled with humor and lots of comedy, so we can’t wait to see how much of those themes will be brought back in this re-boot. We all know that Bullock has the chops to star in a comedy, so with her in the lead, this should be a fun film to see.

Production for the film is scheduled to begin in October in New York.

Keep your ears to the ground as we wait for more news from the Oceans Eight production!
