Finally, the first trailer for Doctor Strange has arrived! The next Marvel film to explore the back story of one of their popular characters, the trailer doesn’t disappoint as we gear up for the release of Captain America: Civil War in the next couple of weeks. The film will be starring Benedict Cumberbatch will star as the good doctor. A successful surgeon, he damages his hands in a car accident to the point that he can no longer do the work he loves, saving lives. This leads him to fall under the tutelage of the Ancient One, and eastern mage who can control unseen forces.
The film is definitely twisting some of the back original content to fit their means when it comes to casting and story line, but truth be told, it might be best that they twist this one just a little. Compared to other Marvel films, Doctor Strange is going to take us out of our element, into one where we definitely have to sit back and accept that magic is real and there’s nothing we can do about it. We were presented with our first “magic type character” in Avengers: Age of Ultron with the Scarlett Witch, but she was easily slipped into the plot and wasn’t that far out there for us to not accept her. But Strange is out there, with this trailer looking like the love child of Inception and The Matrix.
With all that said, we couldn’t be more excited for this step into the strange and unknown territory of the future Sorcerer Supreme. With the film being described as Marvel’s Fantasia, it will be exciting to see how the film does and how much Marvel fans will love Doctor Strange once it is released.
