The Super Bowl isn’t just a sporting event, it’s an event for film companies to release their newest trailers for upcoming films. From Captain America: Civil War to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle: Out of the Shadows, the trailers this year were exciting and definitely caught our attention. Check them out below in the order they were shown during the sporting event of the year!

Eddie the Eagle

Starring Hugh Jackman and Taron Egerton, the feel-good sports comedy is inspired by true events about a British ski-jumper who made an improbable and historic showing at the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics. The trailer involved NFL athletes praising the film for it’s depiction of athletic life and allowing Egerton to star in the film, instead of Jackman taking the spotlight.

Deadpool

The next trailer was for the upcoming film Deadpool, which promptly told all of us, “See you this Friday, America.” The Merc with a Mouth played by Ryan Reynolds is sure to please fans with his sarcastic jokes. The trailer gave fans a few new things to see and was a fun start to the night.

Captain America: Civil War

This was the trailer that Marvel fans were waiting for. The tension is building as the new Captain America gets closer. We get a full view of who is taking whose side in this battle that pits friend against friend.

10 Cloverfield Lane

There isn’t much known about 10 Cloverfield Lane except that it’s the sequel to Cloverfield, the 2008 monster film that was shot in first person. From this new trailer it looks like the same monster that we saw at the end of Cloverfield. So the excitement is waiting to see if that is true and the monster is the same and this is the aftermath of Cloverfield.

The Jungle Book

The upcoming Disney live action remake is based off of Rudyard Kipling’s classic children’s story. The animals in this new film all speak in as if they are human and communicate with Mowgli. This trailer is really showing us whose voice is attached to who, from Christopher Walken as an orangutan to Ben Kingsley as Bagheera and Idris Elba as Shere Khan. This is sure to be a film that the entire family can enjoy.

Jason Bourne

This is a sequel fans have been waiting for, with Matt Damon returning in his role as Jason Bourne, this spy movie looks to be full of action and everything we could hope for from a Bourne movie.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows

This is the second trailer for the hero fighting film. Megan Fox returns as April O’Neil, with newcomers like Stephen Amell as Casey Jones and Gary Anthony Williams as Bebop. The trailer brings all the comedy and action that we would expect from a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle film.

Independence Day: Resurgence

The next trailer opened on a football game, similar to the one we were all enjoying yesterday, but then all hell breaks loose as aliens attack and humans once again have to fight for survival. The film stars Jeff Goldblum once again with young newcomers fighting alongside him.

X-Men: Apocalypse

The newest trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse is full of action. Featuring Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique and Olivia Munn as Psylocke as the battle that Apocalypse is bringing to the X-Men begins. This will be a film full of action.
