The anticipation is growing for Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming horror flick, Crimson Peak, starring Tom Hiddleston (Marvel’s The Avengers), Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty), and Mia Wasikowska (Alice in Wonderland). With the release only a few weeks away, Legendary and Universal Pictures released a new featurette which gives fans a glimpse into the story and into the making of the film.

The film is a gothic romance about a young author who struggles with the love of a friend and the attraction she has for the mysterious Mr. Thomas Sharpe. When she marries Thomas and moves out to his estate, she discovers secrets that were best left hidden in a house that is very much full of surprises.

Both del Toro and Hiddleston speak of a specific set, a hallway, that is featured in the film. It’s a very important set as it’s “where ghosts manifest themselves”. Both discuss the hallway from the view of the director and the view of the character, where as one is fascinated the other is weary. Hiddleston plays Thomas Sharpe in the film and he says that “it’s a part of the house that Thomas avoids, because that part of the house is where the darkest secrets are buried”.
