The news is finally official from Walt Disney Studios: Indiana Jones is headed back to the big screen for a fifth film, with Harrison Ford revising his role as Dr. Henry Walton “Indiana” Jones, Jr. The new film will be directed by Steven Spielberg once again and has a set release date of July 2019. The film will definitely end up being one of the hot summer blockbusters, with films like Inhumans, Bad Boys 4 and an untitled Illumination Entertainment Film as it’s competition that month.
Chairman of The Walt Disney Studios Alan Horn stated that, “Indiana Jones is one of the greatest heroes in cinematic history, and we can’t wait to bring him back to the screen in 2019”. Sadly, we don’t have a set plot line yet but we’ll be keeping an eye out to see what the plan is for this next film. Hopefully, the film will be better than the last Indiana Jones film: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008).
