It looks like Michael Bay is returning for the next Transformers film, but this could be his last. The 50-year-old filmmaker revealed that he would be directing the fifth installment of the alien robot series during an interview with Rolling Stone. Yet, even with his confirmation of directing this fifth film, he will be walking away from the series after, this will be his last Transformers film.

“The middle-[budget] movie is basically gone. They just want these big movies,” Bay told Rolling Stone. “Transformers, I still have a great time. It’s fun to do a movie that 100 million people will see. But this is the last one. I have to pass the reins to someone else.”

Bay is currently working on pre-production of the Transformers film which will once again be starring Mark Wahlberg. Transformers 5 is expected to be released in the summer of 2017. Do you want to see another Transformers direct by Bay?
