It seems Lucasfilm and Disney are getting closer to having cast the young Han Solo, as they have released the short list after seeing thousands of actors, sources told Variety. That list includes about a dozen actors of various ages with Emory Cohen (Brooklyn), Scott Eastwood (The Longest Ride), Ansel Elgort (The Fault in Our Stars), Dave Franco (22 Jump Street), Blake Jenner (Glee), Logan Lerman (Fury), Jack Reynor (Transformers: Age of Extinction), and Miles Teller (Insurgent) among the names making the list.

There have been questions as to why casting is being done so early for the Han Solo spinoff film, with filming not beginning until January of next year, but the reasons behind this are possibly very exciting. Sources close to the situation claim that the early casting has to do with another Star Wars film that is currently shooting, rather than the untitled “Han Solo” film. Could that mean that the new Han Solo would have a small cameo in Rogue One: A Star Wars Anthology before being seen in his own film?

This would be a good move for Lucasfilm, and we are about to see Disney do the same thing with another sub-company in a Marvel film, with Spider Man and Black Panther making an appearance in Captain America: Civil War before having their own stand alone films. Also, the age for Solo would match the time period of Rogue One: A Star Wars Anthology would match his age for the stand alone film, so it’s not unthinkable.

Which of the actors above do you want to see land the part of Han Solo? Any crowd favorites?
