The artist known as Prince – full name Prince Rogers Nelson – has passed away, according to a TMZ report on Thursday. Found at his Paisley Park compound in Minnesota early Thursday morning and was 57 when he died. Apparently he had been battling the flu after a medical emergency on April 15.
At this point Carver County Sheriff spokesman Jason Kamerud confirmed they were investigating the death of superstar Prince. Stating that, “We are not releasing any information regarding the identity of the person who died until next of kin is notified.”

In 1984 he starred in Purple Rain, a film about a tormented young musician who is struggling with an abusive situation at home.
