The beloved children’s series, The Magic Tree House, has been acquired by Lionsgate and is now coming to the big screen. With 54 books in the series written by Mary Pope Osborne, the studio has a lot of content to create a great new children’s series. The studio has already started working on the first live-action film in the planned series.
Osborne is serving as executive producer with her husband for the series. The books follow the adventures of brother and sister Jack and Annie as they travel through the stories in the books that fill a magic tree house. The series will begin on book number 29, Christmas in Camelot, which finds Jack and Annie rediscovering the tree house after having outgrown it. They are then summoned to Camelot, where they must become its heroes and saviors.
