To all the faithful Trekkies out there in the universe, it’s been almost 50 years since the show Star Trek first aired on TV and it’s time for something new. With a fan base that ranges from young to young at heart it’s time to be excited because your favorite show is about to get a reboot! CBS announced on Monday that there are plans to create and produce a new TV series based on the original show. This new series is tentatively set to air in January 2017, which might seem too far away, but with this announcement it’s closer than it seems.

The question now is, will the new series be in the old universe, or will it be in the universe that J.J. Abrams created in his Star Trek movies? That is the question many fans are asking as they wait (patiently or impatiently is up to you) on that answer.

From the press release:

The brand-new Star Trek will introduce new characters seeking imaginative new worlds and new civilizations, while exploring the dramatic contemporary themes that have been a signature of the franchise since its inception in 1966.

But do fans want to see the show in the Abrams universe or do they want to see it in the universe that they grew to know and love? We want to hear from you about what you want to see from this new (and very exciting) news!
