With the last two seasons of Game of Thrones fast approaching, HBO is still in talks to follow up the acclaimed series with something fans would love to see. The follow up, would be a prequel, or spinoff, series based on the world created by George R.R. Martin. Fans are hoping that it’s a prequel series and we see the wars that led to King Robert taking the throne and the circumstances around Jon Snow’s birth.
Casey Bloy, HBO’s programming president, said in a statement that, “it’s still kind of preliminary ongoing talks.” Meaning that they have no clue what they are planning to do, just visiting the drawing board and writing down ideas. But with the show ending in just two short seasons, Game of Thrones fans aren’t ready to let go of their favorite show.
The possibilities for a spin-off series are endless, with the vast world that the series consists of. It will be interesting to see what happens and whether or not there will be a new series for fans to become just as attached to.
