Disney fans have reason to get excited today, with the release of the newest trailer for Pete’s Dragon being released. The film, directed by David Lowery, stars Bryce Dallas Howard and Robert Redford bringing the classic 1977 film to life in a modern way. This newest trailer, merely two months before the remake is set to release in August. With all the excitement about this next Disney remake, we finally get a good view of the story and characters in this newest trailer.
Finally, we get to see Elliott, the invisible dragon that Pete lives with in the forest. If you are unfamiliar with the story of Pete’s Dragon, then let’s give you a run down of what this movie is all about. The original storyline follows a young orphan named Pete (Oakes Fegley) who has survived in the woods with the help of his friend Elliott, an invisible dragon. When he is found by Grace (Dallas Howard), a local forest ranger whose father (Robert Redford) has told local children stories of a dragon living in the forest for years. With their help, Pete is able to protect Elliott from locals who mean him harm.
Disney is still making money off of it’s recent release The Jungle Book, which has made $910.6 million worldwide since it was released in April.
