Disney has released two teaser trailers to the upcoming Alice Through the Looking Glass. The film is set to be a sequel to Disney’s Alice in Wonderland (2010) starring Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter and Mia Wasikowska. Unlike the first film, the sequel will not be directed by Tim Burton this time around, but by James Bobin who directed The Muppets (2011) and Muppets Most Wanted (2014).
With the release date getting closer and closer, fans have been anticipating the release of anything that has to do with the film. Well, that little bit has finally come, with two teaser trailers. These teasers are tiny, one is 9 seconds long and the other is 11 seconds long. But what they show to the viewer is an Alice we have been waiting to see.
In the first teaser, we see Alice opening a door and falling. Falling to where? We can only guess (I mean it’s not that hard to figure out where she’s falling to) that she’s falling towards Wonderland and back to her many friends that are still there (like our favorite the Mad Hatter).
In the second teaser, we see a blue butterfly fly into a mirror and disappear. Alice is wearing a beautiful blue outfit, that looks to be a new piece from her adventures around our world. The butterfly on the other hand is out of place, and could it possibly be Blue, the wise caterpillar from Wonderland, here to lure her back?
We can only guess at this point, but we definitely can’t wait to see what else will be shared before the film’s release on May 27, 2016.
