Entertainment Weekly just confirmed the news that Tom Cruise is in talks with Universal Pictures for The Mummy reboot. The reboot is set to launch a shared universe of monster movies based on the classic creatures we all grew up with.
The film will be set in present day and could feature a female mummy, rather than the typical male mummy we’ve seen in the past. No further plot details have been released, but the film will be directed by Alex Kurtzman with a script by John Spaihts (Prometheus).
Variety was the first to report of Cruise’s potential Mummy casting, but with the possible big name leading man this news has shot off like a rocket and has everyone talking. What are your thoughts about this news?
