We finally are getting more footage from Disney’s Moana in the newest trailer that aired during the Rio Olympics on Sunday night. The film, which will be released Thanksgiving of this year, is a fantasy based around a young girl named Moana who travels on an adventure across the vast Pacific Ocean with a demi-god named Maui. The film is directed by John Musker and Ron Clements, with music by Mark Mancina, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Opetaia Foa’i. The film will star Dwayne Johnson and newcomer Auli’i Cravalho.

Moana is the first Disney Princess film to be released since Frozen took the world by storm, and we can’t wait to see if this film will hold a flame to the wildfire that was Frozen and the song we all now know, “Let it Go”. Thankfully, this newest trailer gives us promise that the film is going to blow our minds and inspire girls out there everywhere to follow their hearts and go on adventures of their own. With recent releases that Moana won’t have a romance in the film, but the film will concentrate on her growth as an individual. That’s what girls need to see, rather than a romance that might be a little unrealistic.
