It’s been announced that Dirty Dancing is getting a remake and Abigail Breslin is set to star in the TV movie musical adaptation. The program will be reimagining the 1987 classic film where Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze stole all our hearts as they fell in love at a 1960s summer resort, a dance teacher and his pupil dancing and breaking the rules.

Breslin will be taking Grey’s part as Baby for the remake of the film, which is the only character we know of so far. The production will be directed by Wayne Blair (Septembers of Shiraz), with Jessica Sharzer (American Horror Story) writing the adaptation. It will be choreographed by Andy Blankenbuehler with music from Adam Anders and Peer Astrom, the masterminds behind Glee.

Will you be tuning in to ABC to watch this classic remake?
